A freewrite is a pretty much time you spend just writing down whatever might be in your head, name says it all. This is great because not only go you get to write down whatever you will not be graded on it or get feedback. This way you do not have to worry about what you are writing down. With you writing down whatever might be in your head it helps clear your mind of "garbage". This could be very helpful when starting a paper or essay to clear one's mind. I know this will help me write because I'm always thinking about other things when I need to be focus on writing. Like now I'm think about my tournament this Saturday when my focus should be here. Now for the reading I found very funny and insightful.
The reading had great points and names for freewrtie, my favorite being a "babbling" exercise. This is a great way to explain a freewrite as this is exactly what I did in my freewrite. The best thing about how a freewrite is it's graded or really read by anyone else. This makes it much easier to babble and my mistakes will still helping you learn to write and remembering all the keys on the keyboard (being a while since I had to type this long).
Hi Haruki -
ReplyDeleteI agree it is hard to focus on writing sometimes. When I have a writing assignment I have to be in a quiet room where I'm not going to be interrupted. For students who live with other people this can be considerably difficult.
I like the point you made using the free-writing exercise to release your feelings on paper.
Thank you,
Sarah Baker
Hello Haruki,
ReplyDeleteI understand the trouble you are going through when it comes to writing. When I find myself getting stuck on a specific sentence, I blatantly write down my idea and move on. This prevents me from getting held up on a certain ideas and allows me to further build my other paragraphs. I hope this is helpful for your writing!
Hello Haruki,
ReplyDeleteI agree that a clear mind makes for a more interesting and focused writing. Your conscience is much more clear because your not writing the free write for a specific audience. Its for your eyes only. I also agree with Natalia just keep the words flowing out to prevent writers block. Thank you for your time I enjoyed reading your blog.

Haruki,
ReplyDeleteI agree in that it is wonderful that we can just write and not have to worry about being graded for the mistakes we may make in our paper. To be able to just sit and write down what ever comes into our minds its a great technique. It allows us to become more effiecent and stronger writers for when it finally does count for a grade! Thanks you for the blog!
